Transfers and Transportation for Cruise Vacation

Getting You to Your Cruise Line and making sure your vacation is a memoriable experience is our goal in the Travel Industry.  .

Transportation to and from the cruise lines is an important function for the Travel Industry.  I know people who have had a perfect experience and some that were horror stories.

Some of the horror stories have been people not making their  LAX Departure in time for their cruise down to Mexico.  The couple were in the 80’s and they had to be carted to the first port, and because of weather they were shipped to port number 2.  The couple were out of 3 days of their cruise and the cruise line spent lots of time trying to get them re-accommodated.  Lesson learned that they had to book a pre hotel stay prior to departure.

When planning on boarding a ship I always try to talk our clients into at least adding one day (Pre Stay) so that they will not run into problems.  May flights have been cancelled before the customers begin their trip and then the anxiety begins.  Travel should be hassle free and when preparing ahead of time you can make sure that you allow lots of free time prior to your cruise departure.

Travel is Fun is you are prepared ahead of time for your Vacation and Family Get Away.  Be sure to purchase insurance on your trip as there are natural disasters  (acts of God) that can happen and make travel impossible.  Look at the recent devastation on the East Coast during Hurricane Sandy.  You just never know what to expect every day of the week.
Happy Travels and may your #Vacation be and Magical Experience for the entire family.

Blogging above the earth during a Flight on Vacation

Blogging above the earth above about 30,000 feet Is a great thing.  Unfortunately not every flight is equipped with the WIFI options.  I am flying to meet up with a Disney Cruise Experience .  Never have had the situation where I couldn’t be connected on our flight.

It is hard to imagine that you can actually communicate with people at a high altitude, but yes it is possible when you have the right flight and just pay a small fee to sign up.  There are times when you can continue to do business on your flight.  I have sat next to editors, publishers, attorney’s, moms, vacationers and many other business travelers.  When you have some time to actually sit down of a flight is a perfect time to be productive and connected with your public.

I can say being a Travel Agent and being connected on a flight is really not necessary but something I enjoy.  When I experience something first handed,  it makes me want to write and tell you all about it.  Good experiences are things that should be shared.

Crying children is a thing of the past.  Most parents are well equipped with the newest electronic gadgets and they sure keep the kids busy.  I believe that this technical world we live in has helped the travelling parents.  I feel the Adult Kids are just as entertained as the Kids with all the Ipad, Ipods,  electronic books, movies and games available.  Personally speaking, I am pre-writing my blog, my husband is watching 3 movies, my brother is listening to some great music and mom is just visiting with her neighbors.

The Flights are perfect on Southwest and I have to take my hat off as the customer service and smiles are well received by all passengers.

WHAT IS THE REAL PRICE OF THAT VACATION? SURVIVE THE EXTRA FEES

People have been traveling to beautiful destination for many years.  What I can't understand, why do the Airlines Companiess need to keep nickle and diming the passengers.  Traveling should be about the experience and not just the destination.

In the past you could pack two bags and not have to worry about stuffing everything into one bag.  The price of an airline ticket might be a "DEAL" for your yearly getaway or #Vacation, but if you have to add $25.00 to $ 35.00 per bag to your cost, your great deal just went out the door.

I have always advised my Travel Clients to pack light, but make sure that you have at least a change of clothes in their carry on and then check their main bag.  I find now that I say just take on the allowed CARRY ON and avoid those extra charges.  THOSE CHARGES ARE UNNECESSARY.  The airlines are trying to get out of debt at the cost of the passengers.

Lets get real and try to avoid the extra charges of you can board a few minutes earlier than the other people, is a wrong approach.  Just get the plane loaded in a speedy manner and YOU WILL ALL GET TO YOUR DESTINATION AT THE SAME TIME.

Customers be aware when you book a packaged #Vacation the baggage fees are NO INCLUDED so be sure to allow for that cost so you won't run short on your spending money.

BEST FRIENDS AND FAMILY VACATION to Maui October 2012

We had a fabulous time showing two best friends (age 91 and 92) the island of Maui.  We started with the adventure loading up at the airport in Oakland.  It is always a challenge to make sure everyone has their ID’s and boarding passes somewhere that will not be lost.

Wanda and Muriel have been best friends well over 65 years and have raised their kids together.   We have been camping, piano lessons, moves and life changing experiences.  Muriel had moved several times and ended up in Phoenix area with her husband Arlie.  They were happy living there for many years, but after Arlie passed away life was just a little harder for Muriel to deal with on her own.  She is now living close to her family and they are glad she is living close enough to watch her grandkids and great children grow up.

My mom has been fortunate to have most of her family living close by and was able to take advantage of many trips to the islands with the rest of our family.  Mom had lost dad at an early age so now both mom and Muriel have more precious time to visit and spend quality time together.

This trip to Maui was such a fun experience to see them reconnect and just spend precious hours talking and walking on the Ocean Trail in front of the Hotels in Kaanapali.

We experienced site seeing at the IAO Valley (the needle), Haleakala National Park, driving up to the North Side of Maui to see the Blow Hole, free Hula Show, local arts and craft show, saw the inside of many souvenier  shops and much more.  These girls had more fun picking out surprises for their grand kids.  Small things can be a precious experience to many.  Just to think that time is ticking and these two great ladies were able and willing to experience the Island of Maui together with a little help from us.  We were so lucky to be able to spend these memories with them.  Taking lots of pictures and sending them back via text message is the way that the family was able to be assured that there were big smiles on their faces and that they truly were having the time of their life.

Just remember that sharing your vacations with others can be rewarding and and inspiring moments when you really think about it.  These ladies will be ready to go when the next opportunity arises….  Now with flower attached in their hair, they are wanting to talk about when the next trip is planned.  They wanted to make sure that you all take advantage of planning ahead.

Smiles and spending quality with Friends and Family is something I always recommend, being a travel agent for over 32 years.  Your experiences should be shared with other and make memories to last your lifetime.

Donner Lake in Truckee CA Has Something for Everyone.

Have you ever visited Donner Lake, located in Truckee California?  This lake has a feeling of small community.  People come from all over the world to see our lake.  Truckee is a small town with a big heart.  There are lots of things to do and see while you visit our wonderful community.  #VACATION TIME.

Donner Lake has been a destination favorite by many travelers.  Wedding are very popular with all the natural beauty that surrounds the lake.  The lake is glass in the mornings with whitecaps in the afternoons.  The activities on the lake are paddle boarding, fishing, water skiing, swimming and just hanging out on a pier.  For camping information check out the website of  Donner State Memorial Park http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=503

The weather is varied with the four seasons.  Right now we are experiencing the Fall colors and it is very beautiful. In the Fall the weather is approximately 61 - 80 degrees during the day.  In Summer  Donner Lake offers opportunities for camping, picnicking, boating swimming, fishing, water-skiing, and easy hiking.   In Winter with the Heavy Snow Fall it is a great place to stay and plan a Winter Vacation of Skiing, Cross Country or Down Hill, Sleding or just relaxing in nature.  One must be bundled up in appropriate clothing so to avoid Frost Bite.  Please make sure that you come prepared to the mountains with Chains for passage during the Winter
.
I walk around the lake and it takes about 2 hours if you are walking briskly.  Bike riding will take you less than 45 minutes if you don't stop to take pictures.  Most of the time when walking around the lake I allow 3 hours due to the fact of the beauty I see and want to take a picture at every vista point.

Donner Lake is the site of the Donner Lake Triathlon and they have been going strong for 31 years.   http://www.sierrasun.com/article/20120713/SPORTS/120719941

There is so much history and things that you and your family can experience that it will last a life time.   We always welcome and hoping you will come soon and visit our Great Town.  For Ideas of what to do or see give me a call  Jeanne Felix, 916.768.0210  Travel Agent  Cordially Yours Travel - Hearts on the Go Travel Division -California Seller of Travel CST-1013939-40 WEBSITE http://www.travelatheart.com oron FACEBOOK  http://www.facebook.com/travelagentjeannefelix
