Checking out Napa and Sonoma Valley - California Back Roads - NOT JUST ABOUT WINE TASTING - ABOUT SERVICE

Many of you love to drive and visits places on the back roads, but I need to share some experiences that we have had recently.  On a rainy or sunny day you will have the same results.  Exploring with friends or family is a treat. But knowing the ins and outs of Wine Tasting and just some Travel Tips helps you have a better experience.
There are several great Winery's out there for Wine Tasting, but I do need to tell you about one Winery worth stopping at.  The Jacuzzi FamilyVineyards is well worth the side trip.  Located on Highway 21 in Sonoma - http://www.jacuzziwines.com or find them on facebook at this address.  http://www.facebook.com/JacuzziWines.  What impressed us is that Irene knew the history and was passionate about her job.  This Winery was very busy due to the fact that they have COMPLIMENTARY WINE TASTING.  They were serving 5 different types for FREE and then if you wanted to check out some of the other wines, it cost $1.00 per taste.  The Jacuzzi Family Vineyards also had some wonderful tastings of Olive Oils and were very free about letting you sample as many as you wanted.  What a great place this was and their shops had some original are and jewelry

Wine Tasting is not FREE  at most Wineries. Some of the Wineries make you order something and sit down.  Many years ago the Wineries wanted people to come, taste their wines and sell to you.  Lots of people have taken advantage of the Free Tasting and it has now caused the Wineries to now charge for their tastings.  Small Wineries need to be supported by the weekend flow of Visitors.

We went to the Gloria Ferrer and walked into the tasting room and they wanted to only let you taste the wines by PURCHASING a FULL Glass and they were quite expensive.  Important thing to know that if you have a VISA SIGNATURE CREDIT CARD and show it to certain Wineries they will let you have a free splash for tasting.  Once Gloria Ferrer Winery knew we have a card, they sat us down and gave us one free sample.

Check out the website http://www.sonomawine.com/visa-signature-perks   for joint offers for  year-round benefits and exclusive to Visa Signature Card Holders.  Visa Signature Winery Guide is located at site  http://www.sonomawine.com/visa-signature-perks/vs-winery-guide,   I just like to report good deals (FREE INFORMATION) when I find them.

A Unique Experience was going into the Trinitas Cellars located in the Meritage Resort.  The Wine Tasting is done in tunnels that were Wine Cellars.  The Spa is located in the same area.  What a way for some people staying at the resort to relax.

Hope this article give you some good information for you on your next Trip through the Back Roads of California.  Happy Travels.

Get Your Airline Tickets Soon for Summer Travel - Prices Are Constantly Rising

Going on Vacation this Summer?  Now is a great time to start looking for airline tickets.  It is noted that airlines are cutting back on routes and giving you, the traveler, fewer choices when trying to book the best fares.  Spring is only a few days away and a perfect time to check into the prices for future travel.

Noticing the fares are constantly rising, if you take a little time and do some research you can benefit from the constant changes in the Travel Market.  It doesn't cost anything to have a Travel Agent check their resources.  Travel Agents have recsources that they can check to help you get the best prices at the time you are ready to book.  We are able to keep competitive with the online companies by working with companies that only work with the Travel Industry.

I tell people to do your online search, but let me try to meet or beat their Travel Package and many times I will be able to beat their best deals that they found.  Please remember to plan enough ahead that you have at least one month in advance for your purchase of airlines tickets.

When booking a tour or cruise, booking early can actually benefit your total cost.  Remember if you book a cruise, you are not locked into the higher price if the prices go down.  This is the advantage of not purchasing the cruise online and letting a Travel Agent work for you to get the best prices out there and make your Dream Vacation a Reality.  If you have any questions, please feel free to check out my website at http://www.travelatheart.com  or if would like travel tips check out my Business Page on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/travelagentjeannefelix.  Happy Travels and Make the Best Travel Purchases with Care.

Volcanoes National Park - Site Seeing in The Big Island of Hawaii

Volcanoes National Park.

What a fun trip up to Volcanoes National Park. We have visited several parks but this is so different than the other National Treasures. When you drive into the park you will see the visitor’s center on the right side of the road. You can stop and get some maps or information regarding the parks. The cost is $10.00 per car load and the pass is good for 7 days. This is quite a bargain. If you are a pedestrian or bicyclist the entrance is $5.00. For the latest information on the volcano flow, call 808 985-6000 or
www.nps.gov/havo

The rim is very evident around the volcano and it was amazing to see the different topography all within one mile. We walked around and there are several hikes that are easy and comfortable 2 – 4 miles. You will see the steam tubes as you walk around the creator and all of a sudden you walk upon a wild orchid. We drove down to the "Lava Tubes" and it is like stepping into a different world. Very green and tropical gives you a chance to experience a walk through history. I would like to recommend this site seeing activity for the entire family. We could have spent many hours more at this " National Treasure", but we need to get back before it was too dark to see the rest of the island.

Travel Tip for Credit Card Usage While Traveling Overseas.

Have you ever traveled overseas and had some surprises.  Well using your credit overseas on your vacation is one subject needs to be addressed. Before You Go- Let Them Know.  I am talking about letting your credit card company know that you will be traveling abroad.  No surprises is the best bet.  Imagine eating dinner and denied using your credit.  This is a hassle for you and the restaurant.  This situation could be avoided if you had just taken steps ahead of time.  Credit Card Companies will turn down your purchases due to suspious activity.

TRAVEL TIP:  When you are traveling overseas be sure to inform your credit card companies.  We have heard travelers trying to purchase meals and products and being refused.  It is very inconvenient and quite the hassle for you.  The credit card companies are trying to cover themselves and this can be a problem for you during your vacation.

Better to be safe than not.  The credit card companies want you to use their cards, but also need to protect themselves.  LET THEM KNOW BEFORE YOU GO.  Happy Travels.

Going Ticketless - For Airplane Flights, Hotels, Car Rentals and Cruise Lines

Fellow Travelers:

Going Ticketless is the only way to travel.  We have been on many vacations where people have lost their ticket for their flight and had to repurchase a new ticket.  With Computers and email - traveling is made simple.  When your Travel Agent has made your reservations make sure that they send you a email confirmation.  Most Tour and Travel Vendor's have gone ticketless as we all have found that people tend to misplace things and everyone has access to a computer and their email.

The best part about having an emailed confirmation that there is no disputing the price of the hotel that was reserved, the fact that you have paid all your taxes, which destination your reservation was reserved.  I tell clients to review all their documents before it is too late.  With the TSA rules - it is so imparative to have the correct name for your airlines ticket as is stated on your drivers license (or ID card) and passport.

Hope these travel tips help to make your traveling preparation a little easier and it is time to get out and start seeing the World.  We only have one lifetime to see it.

Happy Travels until we meet again.
