Exploring Rome and Excursions

Rome and excursions:

There are so many things to see and do when visiting Rome.  First you need to know how many days you have to explore this wonderful city.  Rome is the Capital of the World.  Some of the things to visit while in Rome are Roman Forum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums, Colosseum, Panatheon, Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.  These are some of my personal recommendations if your stay in Rome is short.  You create wonderful memories of this fantastic Vacation pictures at all these famous sights.  When you get home you will be glad that you spent the extra time to Visit some Historical Sites that interest you personally.  Happy Travels and Pick Your Excursions Wisely.

The Vatican – The Home of the Pope requires at least One Full Day of your time.  Truly worth the time you spend exploring the Home of the Pope and the Smallest Nation in the World.  There are always long lines to get into St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.  Be prepared and have your travel agent pre book these tours to make the best use of your time.  Go right to the front of the lines with your tour director

Transfer from Airport to Downtown Hotels.  You can hire a taxi, set up a private transfer for minimum amount based on 5 traveling together.  If there are only two of you traveling I recommend pre-purchasing a shared transfer and it will run you about $32.00 USD per person.  When you hire a Private Transfer the tour company provides directions on where to meet at the airport and will take you directly to your hotel.

After traveling from the USA, you are pretty tired and getting to your hotel room is one of the best things to do and get some rest.

Tranfers from Downtown Hotels to the Cruise Port:  Here you can take the trains, but you will be let off in city center and then need to take a TAXI to the cruise port.

I recommend private Transfers from a Vendor that your Travel Agent can pre-purchase for you for approximately $59.00 USD per person. The Cruise Lines want to charge $96.00  so you can see the savings to you when you pre book the transfers from somewhere other than the cruise lines.

Boarding Your Ship:  The Cruise Port:  The Cruise Ships Embark and Debark frin the port that is approximately  1 – 1 ½ hours away from Rome depending how much traffic you run into.  Highly recommend another private transfer to eliminate the Stress of getting to the Ship on Time.  There are strict rules that the cruise lines want your paperwork filled out before you leave home.  It makes boarding more streamline for all the passengers.  Allow at least 2-4 hours prior to departure to board your floating city for the week.

Transfers and Transportation for Cruise Vacation

Getting You to Your Cruise Line and making sure your vacation is a memoriable experience is our goal in the Travel Industry.  .

Transportation to and from the cruise lines is an important function for the Travel Industry.  I know people who have had a perfect experience and some that were horror stories.

Some of the horror stories have been people not making their  LAX Departure in time for their cruise down to Mexico.  The couple were in the 80’s and they had to be carted to the first port, and because of weather they were shipped to port number 2.  The couple were out of 3 days of their cruise and the cruise line spent lots of time trying to get them re-accommodated.  Lesson learned that they had to book a pre hotel stay prior to departure.

When planning on boarding a ship I always try to talk our clients into at least adding one day (Pre Stay) so that they will not run into problems.  May flights have been cancelled before the customers begin their trip and then the anxiety begins.  Travel should be hassle free and when preparing ahead of time you can make sure that you allow lots of free time prior to your cruise departure.

Travel is Fun is you are prepared ahead of time for your Vacation and Family Get Away.  Be sure to purchase insurance on your trip as there are natural disasters  (acts of God) that can happen and make travel impossible.  Look at the recent devastation on the East Coast during Hurricane Sandy.  You just never know what to expect every day of the week.
Happy Travels and may your #Vacation be and Magical Experience for the entire family.
